SJP Wellbeing X Safe Pets Safe Families
Partnered Support for SPSF Volunteers
Helping provide support for everyone, no matter where they live.
SJP Wellbeing is proud to partner with Safe Pets Safe Families South Australia
as the Northern Adelaide hub for their volunteer wellbeing support.
Who are Safe Pets Safe Families?
Safe Pets Safe Families work with people and pets in crises to improve outcomes and reduce the occurrence of surrender, animal abuse, neglect and euthanasia. They actively assist finding safe housing and provide strategies to reduce the incidence of intergenerational poverty.
They offer range of programs to provide broader support services to recognised vulnerable pet owners in the South Australian community. These services range from offering foster care and veterinary care in times of need to educating at-risk youths to reduce animal abuse and domestic violence. Find out more via their website below.
Why does this partnership matter?
We understand that the work volunteers do with Safe Pets Safe Families is deeply meaningful - and often emotionally demanding. From responding to crisis situations to holding space for others' grief and hardship, it can take a toll. This partnership is about recognising that, and making sure support is available when and where it’s needed.
Volunteers are the backbone of Safe Pets Safe Families. Whether you're helping with outreach, fostering animals, offering care at clinics, or providing emotional support to clients - we see the effort, heart and dedication you bring. It’s our privilege to walk alongside you.
At SJP Wellbeing, we believe in supporting those who support others. This partnership is part of our broader commitment to accessible, trauma-informed care - grounded in compassion, community, and connection.
Through this partnership, SPSF can ensure support for those located in the north.

Less travel = more access. Volunteers can access confidential, trauma-informed sessions as promised, even if they are on the other side of the city.
While this service is not open to the public, it’s one way we’re building thoughtful, sustainable pathways for those doing powerful frontline work in our community.
This will be given by our current student volunteer.
Our current student counsellor, Kiah Lanagan.
